An Environment That Grows with Children

Step into a ‘t Veldmuisje group and you’ll immediately notice that everything is designed for children. From low tables and open cabinets to challenging play corners and appropriate play materials. Everything invites them to play, discover, and explore independently.

When designing our spaces, we look through the eyes of children. What captures their attention? What sparks their curiosity? And what helps them explore independently? This way, we create a pleasant and familiar environment where children feel at ease and can grow to their full potential.

Everything Within Reach

Children love to discover things on their own. That’s why many materials are placed at child height. Books, puzzles, blocks, and other play materials are easy to grab, allowing children to choose what they want to play with.

This freedom helps children better understand their own interests. They discover what they enjoy, make choices, and experience that they can do a lot themselves.

Room to Move

Movement is part of growing up. That’s why our groups offer plenty of space for crawling, climbing, scrambling, and exploring.

For babies, this means a safe place to explore the world around them. Toddlers and preschoolers, on the other hand, find challenges in climbing, balancing, and moving. Therefore, our spaces and play elements are tailored to the age and development of the children.

This way, every child gets the space to practice new skills at their own pace.

Play Materials That Encourage Discovery

The play materials in our groups align with what children are interested in. Think of building materials, books, creative materials, role-playing games, and discovery games. Materials that allow for imagination, curiosity, and fun.

We regularly rotate materials and adapt to the children’s interests, so there’s always something new to discover.

Playing Together and Learning From Each Other

In our groups, children play together, observe each other, and learn from one another. A child focused on building or enthusiastically completing a puzzle often inspires other children to join in.

The setup supports this cooperative play. There are places for playing together, but also quiet corners for children who prefer to explore or relax alone for a bit.
