Big on small-scale childcare
’t Veldmuisje is a dedicated, personal childcare organization. We work with small-scale locations that have a cozy, home-like atmosphere. Our permanent, trusted pedagogical staff know every child inside and out, providing a safe and loving environment where children can develop at their own pace.
Every day, we encourage ‘our’ children in a pedagogically responsible way to go on a journey of discovery. Through play, they explore the world and learn a lot about interacting with others. We stimulate their imagination, wonder, and independence, so they grow step-by-step into confident, social, and curious ‘big’ people.
Behind the scenes, our professional organization ensures everything runs smoothly. We also have a permanent pedagogue who supports our staff and brainstorms with them. Additionally, we work closely with schools, healthcare professionals, the municipality, and of course, with you as parents and caregivers.

That is why we at ‘t Veldmuisje dedicate ourselves to this kind of childcare every day with heart and soul.
Our vision also includes a number of components not directly mentioned in the description above. We briefly discuss these components below, partly because ‘t Veldmuisje differs in some of these aspects from what is common at some other childcare organizations.
Pedagogical policy
We work based on an in-house developed pedagogical policy in which we have combined the appealing aspects of four different movements into our own unique approach.
Loving
Good childcare is loving care. For us, that is so self-evident that we often forget to mention that at ‘t Veldmuisje, everything truly starts with a love for children and a passion for the profession.
Quality
When it comes to children, it has to be right. Another self-evident truth we live by every day, so that we deliver Childcare with a capital Q for Quality.
A great start!
We are convinced of the importance of a healthy start and physical activity for all children. That is why we offer movement classes for the Miffy Movement Diploma. Here, toddlers and preschoolers learn to balance, roll, skip, climb, jump, swing, catch, throw, and kick to their heart’s content. This way, we work on muscle strength, agility, sense of rhythm, and self-confidence. Read more about it here.
Peace of mind
How nice is it as a parent not to have to worry about anything regarding your child’s care? At ‘t Veldmuisje, you can experience just that, because we take care of everything for you. We do this by providing everything your child needs during their stay. Things like food and diapers, for example, can be left entirely to us. That saves a lot of hassle, ‘don’t-forget’ notes, and lugging things around!
All-in for a fixed amount
Being surprised every month by a bill for all kinds of additional costs; in our opinion, that doesn’t fit with ‘peace of mind.’ That’s why we don’t do additional costs. At ‘t Veldmuisje, you only pay the agreed amount (hourly rate times number of hours). Our hourly rate is all-in.
So everything is already included. Yes, that means the costs of that extra diaper or sandwich, the costs for that fun outing, and even the administration costs if you change your contract type. Now, that is true peace of mind!

Our organization
Local and growing
Childcare ‘t Veldmuisje started in 2011 with one location (daycare and after-school care) in Velddriel. In 2014, we opened a second branch in Kerkdriel, and this location also offers both daycare and after-school care.
By taking over a number of preschools from SPM (Stichting Peuterspeelzalen Maasdriel) in 2020, ‘t Veldmuisje grew into an organization with 9 small-scale locations. In 2022, we reached ten branches with the start of an after-school care center fully focused on sports and play.
This Sports BSO is located at the DSC sports complex on Ipperakkeren in Kerkdriel.
Structure
At Childcare ‘t Veldmuisje, we offer 3 forms of childcare.
Central support
We want our childcare professionals working within the three pillars to be able to concentrate on the children as much as possible. Therefore, a number of things are handled centrally so they don’t have to worry about them. We have organized it as follows:
Central Office
Scheduling tours, registering new applications, child placement, answering all kinds of questions from parents, staff scheduling, purchasing, invoicing, administration: at ‘t Veldmuisje, it is all handled by the Central Office located at Voorstraat 73a in Velddriel. Inge and Claudia, two (former) pedagogical professionals who know from experience what childcare is all about, handle these and many other supporting tasks from the Central Office.
Inge, present on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, handles staff scheduling and also works with the group at the after-school care.
Claudia, present on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, takes care of child scheduling, invoicing, and various other administrative tasks.

Management
‘t Veldmuisje is a flat organization with as few hierarchical layers and managers as possible.
Of course, we can’t do without them entirely, so we have set it up as follows:
Conny, as Childcare Manager, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of all childcare at all our locations.
Marieke is our pedagogue. As a pedagogical coach, she guides the pedagogical professionals at the various locations and in daily practice. Marieke also advises parents on pedagogical matters.
Head Mouse Emily has final responsibility for ‘t Veldmuisje and, as director, focuses mainly on things that will become important next week, next month, or next year.
