Welcome to 't Veldmuisje Daycare Centers
‘t Veldmuisje daycare centers professionally provide loving care for children aged 0 to 4 every workday. This allows parents to go to work with peace of mind. We pay close attention to the needs of each child. Babies receive the rest, love, and attention they need, including a comfortable sleeping environment. Toddlers, once they are ready, are increasingly integrated into the daily routine. There is time for eating, sleeping, playing, singing, and reading books together. We also go outside at least twice a day.
What makes us unique? We monitor the development of every child. No checklists or pressure to perform, but loving encouragement when needed. Is a child potty training? We’ll read an extra story about it. Is a child not playing much with others yet? We’ll guide them in a fun way. This is how we help each child grow at their own pace.
Choosing ‘t Veldmuisje Childcare means choosing small-scale, personalized care. We know every child and every parent by name, and our dedicated pedagogical staff create a warm and familiar environment. Childcare is not just our profession; it’s our passion. Your little one is in good hands with us!
What & Why?
We offer a warm and safe place for children aged 0 to 4 while their parents are at work. You can leave your child with us with peace of mind; our dedicated and expert staff will take good care of them.
Childcare is not only practical but also a valuable foundation for your child’s development. Here, children learn to play together and develop new skills. We read aloud, sing songs, and play outside a lot. This stimulates language, motor skills, and social skills.
We guide children step-by-step towards more independence and always coordinate this with parents. For example, if your child is potty training, we support that process by paying extra attention to books about using the potty.
Children thrive on clarity and structure. That’s why each day has a recognizable rhythm, with fixed times for eating, sleeping, and playing. At the same time, we ensure variety with daily changing activities, fitting a theme.
1. Safety and Security
We create a safe and trusted environment by working with small, horizontal groups in their own space:
At the Kerkdriel location, we work with 3 groups:
Bosmuis (baby group 0-3 years): maximum 13 children with 3 pedagogical professionals.
Dwergmuis (1-4 years): maximum 13 children with 2 pedagogical professionals.
Spitsmuis (2-4 years): maximum 16 toddlers with 2 pedagogical professionals.
At the Velddriel location, the setup is as follows:
Baby group (0-2 years): maximum 9 children with 2 permanent pedagogical professionals.
Toddler group (2-3 years): maximum 16 children with 2 permanent pedagogical professionals.
At De Pompoen in Vught, the setup is as follows:
De Korenbloem (0.5 – 4 years): maximum 13 children with 2 pedagogical professionals.
De Goudsbloem (0.5 – 4 years): maximum 13 children with 2 pedagogical professionals.
We work with permanent pedagogical professionals. If they are absent, they are replaced by people from our own substitute pool. This structure ensures a small-scale and clear environment, helping your child feel at home quickly.
2. High-Quality Pedagogy
Our unique pedagogical policy combines elements from various educational approaches, aimed at the highest quality. We work – just like in toddler care – with the Uk & Puk program, where puppet Puk is central. This program playfully stimulates your child’s language development, socio-emotional growth, motor skills, and early numeracy skills. We also ensure continuous training for our staff.
A unique aspect of ‘t Veldmuisje is that we employ our own pedagogue. Our pedagogue coaches our pedagogical staff, ensuring they always provide the best possible care and guidance. Additionally, she observes if we notice a child developing differently than expected. This allows us to identify any special needs early and, in consultation with parents, provide the right support in a timely manner.
3. Your Child's Development
Every day, we encourage ‘our’ children in a pedagogically responsible way to discover the world. We do this in a playful and imaginative manner, so they can develop safely and happily.
We use an observation system to closely monitor your child. We note special moments daily, and twice a year, we conduct a comprehensive review of their development. Not to judge, but to understand what your child needs.
If we see that a child finds language particularly interesting, we read fun books together. If a child needs a little extra help with motor skill games, we focus on that. It’s all about meeting needs, without pressure or obligations.
4. Communication with Parents
We highly value open communication with parents. As childcare professionals, we walk alongside you in your child’s development, guidance, and upbringing. Because we are part of the child’s primary circle, we find it important to have accessible and regular contact.
That starts upon arrival: we like to hear if your child slept well and if there are any special circumstances. At the end of the day, we share, preferably together with your child, how the day went and what adventures were experienced.
Growth and development involve trial and error. During challenging periods, our pedagogical professionals – and if necessary, our pedagogue – are happy to think along with you. Therefore, we appreciate it if parents also let us know how things are at home, so we can collectively offer the best support.
